Who can play DnD?

Anyone can play DnD. If you can communicate and want to tell collaborative stories, role playing games like DnD are for you.

Who are your DnD camps for?

The summer camps were set up to replace real life day camps for tweens and teens at a local school. Week long camps are designed with teens in mind. (This could change, keep an eye on our Schedule page.

Can grown-ups play?

Of course. While the camps are targeted at teens grown ups are welcome to schedule their own sessions. 

What is DnD?

DnD or Dungeons and Dragons is a tabletop role playing game developed in the 1970's currently owned and published by Wizards of the Coast. Well Dressed Gandalf does not own DnD this is just the RPG that we have chosen to run for our camps and campaigns. There are many others and we encourage your to research and explore.

What does Well Dressed Gandalf do?

Well Dressed Gandalf teaches the basics of how to play DnD and starts people off on a (hopefully) life long journey of telling stories and exploring imaginary characters and realms with friends. In Player camps, campaigns, and sessions Well Dressed Gandalf acts as the Dungeon Master, or DM, guiding the players through a story and the mechanics of playing the game. In DM camps Well Dressed Gandalf coaches soon to be DMs on how to run a campaign for their own players. 

Where can I play with Well Dressed Gandalf?

Currently Well Dressed Gandalf is only available online. We hope to be able to offer IRL games in the future, generally in your space.
Virtual tools are Roll20.net, dndbeyond.com, and Discord, Zoom or Skype as needed.  First sessions will generally be on Zoom with link sent prior to the session. In the event of connectivity issues with sites we will default back to a Zoom chat as needed. 

All details will be provided in a welcome document for all players.

Why should I play DnD?

Its an opportunity to explore; you get a little bit of improv theatre, a chance to play with old friends and make new friends, a chance to inhabit diverse characters and identities. What was once done around a campfire is now done at the RPG table. Why do I need someone to teach me to play DnD?

Picking up the DM guide and running a table for your friends and family can be daunting. Well Dressed Gandalf is here to help you on your first steps and set up a foundation where you get the fun of DnD before all the hard work.

How do I sign up for a camp?

Email us, include in your subject line the camp you are wanting to sign up for then tell us a little about yourself. We will get back to you with a confirmation and a welcome document. 

How do I schedule a session/series?

Email us, tell us a little about what you are wanting and how many players you are expecting. We will work with you to schedule a time and provide a welcome document to all players once the session is confirmed. 

How do I play DnD?

That is why we are here. To teach you how to play DnD. Actual game play is telling a story about characters we invent at the table and rolling some dice to determine the quirks of fate that react to their decisions. You can play DnD with a couple of books, a paper and pencil, and a handful of dice. That being said, there is a lot of material in DnD and part of what we will do is help you navigate it all.
